Remember this?
Well BOOM! It's completed!
Edgar Allen Poe Sampler by Pullen Designs from JCS Halloween Special 2013.
Stitched on 32-count natural linen from Wichelt using DMC and Madeira threads.
Yeeeeass!
Now that I have a new fancy-pants magnifier-lamp I thought I'd go back to stitching this. My last update was last year and I was stitching the writing at the top which is over-one. I was having to use my neck-magnifier, which I hated, so I sort of lost the will with this a little. In the past two weeks I've managed to finish it. I flew along on the over-one stitching and from then on it was like my needle was on fire.
The original design was yellow-toned, but I changed to blue and I'm really pleased with how it turned out ^^

Stunning finish!! I love your colour change. I prefer yours to the original :) Fantastic work.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Congrats on a wonderful finish. This one is on my to-do list after I saw your start on it a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, I really love your colour change. The blue makes it a piece for every season and not just halloween. I still haven't started mine. But when I do, mine will be blue too.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're enjoying your new lamp! The do make a huge difference, don't they? Especially over one. This is a brilliant finish, well done!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Beautiful stitching!

ReplyDeleteThe colour change is a great idea.. Loving the blue tones :)
Congrats on the finish, love the colours too. Great changes. I'm glad you gave found a way to happily stitch the over one areas too.
ReplyDeleteOh, a HUGE Congratulations!!! Such a wonderful finish, your conversion is absolutely AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteOh great! Now I have to do it again in blue! I LOVE IT! Never even thought of changing the colors. I did add silver-lined clear beads to the top of the fence, the raven's eye & the cat eyes, and black beads for the owl eyes.
ReplyDeleteI got this chart and was wondering what blues you used. email me please
